History Cafe- WPA 2025

The Works Progress Administration (WPA) was a New Deal agency created in 1935 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to provide jobs to millions of unemployed people during the Great Depression. Its main goal was to employ as many people as possible on public works projects that would benefit the community long-term, such as building roads, schools, and parks, but it also funded white-collar projects for artists, writers, and musicians.
Join us for coffee/tea, muffins and history at History Café in the High Plains Education Center at the Overland Trail Museum on Wednesday, October 29 at 10:30 am to learn more about the WPA and how it impacted our state and our community!   Seating is limited and reservations are necessary.  Please call 970-522-3895 to reserve your spot
